Air Marshals, like Teachers?

Federal air marshalls are supposed to be a key part of defending airways against terrorists. But is the program being administered reasonably? Read the story on MSNBC.com

One cannot help but ponder the parallels to another important profession: teaching. A critical shortage of teachers was caused by poor pay and bad working conditions. At the risk of oversimplifying matters, if we expect top performance from air marshals, we must provide rewards in kind.
