Carter Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Former President Jimmy Carter has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Read about it on MSNBC.com.

For a man marked by a terrible presidency, Carter has made a much greater impact on the world out of office. He deserves the award.

On the other hand, Gunnar Berge, the Nobel committee chairman, deserves a New York raspberry after taking a petulant swipe at President Bush’s Iraq policy. It’s easy to lead from the sidelines, Mr. Berge.
