Death Penalty Revisited

Posted on March 25, 2007March 25, 2007 by marc

The horrific murder of a Texas co-ed at the hands of an obsessed ex-boyfriend and a report of an even more sickening fate suffered by an innocent 6 year-old boy have been lodged in my psyche as if the stories were shards of glass blasted into my mind’s eye. I’ve read a lot lately about…

Rape, a New Definition

Posted on February 12, 2007February 12, 2007 by marc

A recent Time article begins thusly: If a woman consents to having sex with a man but then during intercourse says no, and the man continues, is it rape? The answer depends on where you live. The highest courts of seven states, including Connecticut and Kansas, have ruled that a woman may withdraw her consent…

Schools’ Accountability

Posted on February 9, 2007February 9, 2007 by marc

There’s been a vigorous debate about accountability in our schools and in it there’s almost always a tacit assumption that the physical safety of the children need not be discussed, that it’s been taken care of. Twenty-four condemned Texas killers were…

First, in moment of a staggering genius, the technical wizards at the Texas DPS have decided to track deported sex offenders after all.  Andy Kahan, director of the crime victim’s office for Houston Mayor Bill White, had to ask the DPS to make the change after one such scumbag killed a Houston cop last month….

Spring, TX? No Thanks…

Posted on May 3, 2006February 26, 2007 by marc

Some of you have undoubtedly heard about the skinheads who beat up and tortured a Mexican boy nearly to death in Spring. This happened in a reasonably nice neighborhood. Disgusting little fuckers, aren’t they? There are so many mental defectives involved in this hideous event that it’s hard to know where to begin unraveling it….

Another One Ought to Bite the Dust

Posted on August 13, 2003 by marc

An appeals court in New Orleans halted execution of convicted murderer. Any excuse will do, apparently, to stop justice from being meted out. If you ask me, a guy who pulls a gun on the presiding judge in his murder trial has proven the state’s case against himself.
