The Health Care Debate We’re Not Having

Posted on August 20, 2009 by marc

imageWe are not having the health care debate that we should be having. The first question should be, “Should the government offer any sort of health care benefit?”, not “What kind of health care program should we implement, how much should it cost, and who will it cover?” These are interesting questions; however, until the former is answered, resoundingly, as an affirmative they are also irrelevant.

Daily Dose of Marilyn

Posted on August 18, 2009 by marc

Amusingly, a widow whose husband’s bones rest above Marilyn’s is auctioning off hubby’s tomb above the late movie star in order to pay off her 1.6M pound mortgage.  Currently the ebay price has been bid up to $4.5M, making Mrs. Poncher a tidy profit and, perhaps, giving her the last word over her spouse.  Call…

Women’s Rights Under Assault in Afghanistan

Posted on August 14, 2009 by marc

imagePerhaps there is little room for leaders with principles in the new Afghanistan.Even so, I would expect more from Hamid Karzai’s government than to cave into Islamofascist fundamentalists on something so, well, fundamental as a woman’s right to control when she has sex.  Basic as they are, such expectations are apparently for naught in the country western blood built.

Posted on August 14, 2009 by marc

Abdul-Latif Moussa leads an Islamic terrorist group called Jund Ansar Allah that as of now is literally fighting for its survival in the Gaza Strip.  But their opponent isn’t the Israeli Defense Forces as one might expect; rather, Moussa’s group is holed up in a mosque surrounded by hundreds of armed members of Hamas.  At…

Michael Vick to Soar with the Eagles

Posted on August 14, 2009 by marc

After serving 18 months in a federal prison, Michael Vick will be suiting up for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles in less than two months.  Presumedly Vick will be acting as Donovan McNabb’s back up for the short term.  But that casting won’t last long.  Vick is too talented to play second-fiddle to the aging and…

Palin on Obama’s Death Panel

Posted on August 8, 2009 by marc

Sarah Palin isn’t one to mince words, it has become apparent.  Yesterday she postulated that Democrats’ health care reform proposals could lead to the formation of government-run “death panels”: The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of…

Bob Herbert says some men hate women and some of those get guns and kill them. Way to look for root causes, Bob. http://bit.ly/JriGD # Iranian protester trials continue; regime more pathetic/illegitimate for it. Glad I'm American, even in the Obama age. http://bit.ly/HpphB # Powered by Twitter Tools.

The Truth About Health Care Protests

Posted on August 8, 2009 by marc

El Marco was at the Stout Street Clinic in downtown Denver where Nancy Pelosi was supposed to come to bolster the pro-reform troops with her presence yesterday.  Not long before Pelosi had gone on-record saying that the anti-legislation crowds that have been reprimanding Congress were anti-American bullies: ‘I think they’re AstroTurf. You be the judge….
